Terms and Conditions

Padlo Stand Up Paddleboarding instructors and staff are highly trained, qualified and experienced and operate a strict participant ratio in accordance with best practice and National Governing Body guidelines.  Padlo Stand Up Paddleboarding is a member of Water Skills Academy and British Canoeing.


INSURANCE

Padlo Stand Up Paddleboarding Public Liability Insurance is supplied by Sportscover Europe Limited with a limit of £10 million

Padlo Stand Up Paddleboarding does not cover loss or damages to personal items or clothing. 


HEALTH AND SAFETY

All participants must complete the health and safety and waiver form prior to the activities.

  • Anyone with a medical condition must seek medical advice before participating in the activities.
  • Stand up Paddleboarding comes with ‘inherent risks'. By making a booking you agree to those risks on the understanding that we will do our very best to minimise them.
  • At the start of each session, you will be given a safety briefing, and risks will be explained to all participants. Please get in touch if you’d like more information beforehand. 
  • Padlo Stand Up Paddleboarding reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone considered to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • There is always the possibility that participants may get wet or enter the water. Wearing of a buoyancy aid is compulsory for all and all participants must be water confident.
  • If you wear glasses, you must accept the risk of damage or loss and accept responsibility for any such injury or loss.
  • Participants must inform us if they wear contact lenses. Please bring spares and rinsing equipment with you.
  • All participants must adhere to all safety instructions given by the instructor. Padlo Stand Up Paddleboarding has the right to cease a session in the event of poor behaviour, refusal to follow safety instructions or acts which endangers themselves and other water users. Refunds will not be offered.
  • Appropriate travel insurance to cover accidents is also recommended.


EQUIPMENT/CLOTHING

  • All participants must wear a buoyancy aid / PFD (personal floatation device)
  • Wetsuits are available to hire at an additional cost, or bring your own.
  • You must wear trainers or closed top shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. Wearing crocs, flip flops, sandals, or going barefoot increases the risk of injury.
  • Clothing must be appropriate for the time of year (e.g., gloves, hats, sunglasses, suncream…)
  • Please bring dry clothes for after the activity along with a towel
  • We carry out regular checks of our equipment to meet industry standards.
  • You are welcome to bring your own equipment with you. Your equipment must be suitable and safe for participation. We will undertake a safety check of your equipment on the day. 
  • Any loss or damages to equipment due to carelessness or negligence must be paid for at the current replacement value. 
  •  You must treat all equipment provided  (board, paddle, buoyancy aid, wetsuit)  as though they were your own. The equipment is not cheap, and inflatable paddle boards can be damaged and burst through improper use or carelessness.    


PERSONAL PROPERTY
Bringing personal, or valuable items ,with you during the SUP activities is not recommended. Padlo SUP is not responsible for any theft, damage, destruction or loss of your property or belongings, however caused, during the SUP activities. 


Glasses and sunglasses- as above, Padlo SUP is not responsible for theft, damage or loss to glasses or sunglasses. Please ensure your glasses are attached to floating straps if you’re planning to wear them on the water


Pets

Unfortunately and due to safety reasons, pets (notably dogs) are not allowed on the boards whilst on the water. It is your responsibility to ensure pets are kept safe during your session.

IMAGES

Photos and videos will be taken during your experience and will be used for marketing and posted on Padlo's social media sites and website. Please let us know at the start of your session if you don’t wish for your photos to be shared publicly. All participants will receive copies of their photos and videos post session.


CONDUCT

We all want to have a memorable and enjoyable experience on the water. Watersports activities such as paddleboarding comes with inherent risks and therefore proper conduct is expected during your session. This includes respecting the equipment used, other customers and water users. Participating children are under the supervision and responsiblity of parents or a legal guardian at all times.

Padlo reserves the right to terminate or postpone sessions in the event of poor behaviour or failure to follow instructions and safety information given by the instructor.

Padlo reserves the right to deny participation of clients who believe to be, or who are under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or those who experiences the after-effects of consuming such substances.. 


PAYMENT

Full payment is required to confirm all bookings. 



CANCELLATION


A) Cancellations or changes by customer:

Should you need to cancel or change the date of your session, please get in touch as soon as possible.

The following scale of charges applies for cancellations:

  • Cancellation 30 days or more before the session– 100% of the amount refunded
  • Cancellation between 15 and 29 days before the session–50% of the amount refunded
  • Cancellation between 14 and 7 days before the session– 25% of the amount refunded
  • Cancellation of fewer than 7 days before the session – no amount refunded


Please note that wetsuit hire costs are not refundable at any time

If you wish to change your booking to a different date, this will be made subject to availability. A credit note may also be offered.


B) Cancellation or changes by Padlo SUP:

Every attempt will be made to ensure sessions run as scheduled. However, Padlo SUP reserves the right to:

  • Cancel due to unsuitable conditions, forecast or weather conditions, or due to any other factors beyond its control which include illness and health of the instructor. All parties need to be aware that these variables can result in the sessions having to be canceled for safety reasons close to, or even on, the day of the session.
  • Padlo SUP will endeavor to rearrange the session to an alternative suitable  date or offer a credit note.


WEATHER:

Safety is the ultimate priority. In the event of poor weather, particularly strong winds, the session will be postponed and an alternative date will be arranged. If an alternative date is not suitable, a credit note will be provided. Please see the cancellation policy above
