Hello - su' mae? My name is Carwyn and welcome to Padlo Stand Up Paddleboarding! "Padlo" is Welsh for paddling and I am excited to share my passion for SUP where I believe is the most stunning part of the UK, in Eryri (Snowdonia) and Llanberis.
My first paddle boarding experience was in 2016 on the glorious Greek island of Zakynthos and since then I have undertaken my biggest challenges to date: in July 2022 I completed the Trent 100 which is a team endurance event paddling 100 kilometres down the River Trent . My first long distance challenge was paddling the length of Scotland from Fort William to Inverness covering over 60 miles along the Caledonian Canal in 2019.
I love the sense of escape on a SUP particularly from the busy lives we lead and the opportunities to explore and see places from a different perspective. I love travelling and have been on multiple SUP tours in this little corner of the country. Over the years I have been lucky to be coached by the incredible Dave Brown and Sian Sykes.
I am a qualified SUP instructor and adventure guide with the Water Skills Academy (WSA). Padlo is also a fully accredited provider with Water Skills Academy.
SUP has many benefits most notably on our wellbeing and mental health. As a full time manager of the local volunteer centre, there is nothing better than getting on the water after a day behind the desk to de-stress, relax and reduce anxiety. Looking after ourselves has never been more important. I will also offer sessions working with local organisations and social prescription schemes. I am the founding Chair of North Wales Pride since 2012 so I also want to want to bring new experiences for the LGBT+ community in the area.

Padlo SUP also offers guided adventure tours for experienced paddlers to explore this beautiful corner of Wales.
During your lesson or tour, you'll learn how to stand up on the board, how to paddle, and how to move the board effectively through the water, but most importantly learn about how to be SUP safe. All necessary equipment is provided, including wetsuits, buoyancy aid, and boards, or you're welcome to bring your own equipment.
On a guided SUP tour you can expect to paddle through landscapes of Eryri and North Wales from a unique perspective. Depending on the tour, you may be able to explore different bodies of water, such as Llyn Padarn, the North Wales coast, the Llangollen Canal, and learn about the history and ecology of the area.
Overall, SUP is a fun and accessible activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Join Padlo Stand up Paddleboarding to explore North Wales and enjoy a unique and exciting experience on the water!
